Well, today was supposed to be the beginning of month 2 but that's not going to happen this week. I had my doctor's appointment today & we got a few answers, but nothing definite yet. He believes it's an intercostal muscle sprain/strain. That was kind of the consensus from talking to other Insaniacs online. He sent me for a chest & rib x-ray so I should hopefully get the results from that tomorrow. If it's just a muscle sprain/strain then he said a week off should be good. I would be able to continue working out right away, but it would just be painful doing the push-ups & plank work. If it's something more serious then I'd have to wait longer, but hopefully a week's rest plus the anti-inflammatories & muscle relaxers will do the trick.
I will be a good patient & not workout this week. I hate waiting this long but I'd rather be ready to come back 100% than to risk hurting myself more!! I can't have my body hurting BEFORE I even start a workout come month 2!! So relax I shall do. I've only taken one anti-inflammatory so far & it's making me a bit drowsy, so relaxing shouldn't be a problem. :) Hope it doesn't affect me too bad because I need to take it twice a day!!
So, not the best news but hopefully not the worst either. He really doesn't think I fractured anything, and I don't think I did either, but once we get the results of the x-rays then I can move forward from there.
I miss you Shaun & I can't wait to workout with you again!!
