Gotta love those words...RECOVERY DAY!! I decided to skip the recovery workout today. I had my one-year follow-up at the cardiologist, and since he's only just under 2 miles from my house & it was such a beautfiful day I decided to run there. So I did two mini-runs of almost 2 miles each & it felt great! I felt a little slow & sometimes a bit sluggish, but I wasn't going for speed. I was still hot & sweaty when I got there, but not as bad as I would have been if I really pushed myself. I just wanted to see that I could do it, to help me mentally prepare for Sunday!! I know it's nowhere near 10 miles, but I haven't run much lately so this was nice. And my knees felt great, too!! That was good to see 'cause last time my left knee started hurting after 2 miles!
I thought about adding cardio abs or something else tonight, but I'm really thinking I should taper down a bit for the rest of this week. I've never skipped a workout altogether, but I think I might skip recovery & just do my regular workout tomorrow. I'm debating on whether or not I should do Saturdays workout. My body has been drained from Insanity & I really want to be fresh for the Broad St. Run on Sunday, so I'm thinking of maybe skipping Saturday & either doing it Monday & pushing everything a day, or doubling up Monday. I guess I'll see how I feel Monday after my race. :) It's my last week of Insanity next week so I'm definitely not going to want to push my last day!! But I'll do what my body tells me to do!!
Can't wait to say I'm done round 1 of Insanity...so then I can start round 2!! Love ya Shaun T!! You & me are gonna be just fine!! ♥
