OK, this is getting crazy. I have decided to actually have a rest day & not do any Insanity so that I can follow what is scheduled as well as to rest my shoulder for next week to begin! But I can't seem to stay off of here & posting a little something on my rest day. :)
But I wanted to share some changes that I noticed that I just know are a direct result of starting Insanity. I went to the casino yesterday afternoon/evening with some girlfriends to see a band. Usually when I go out that's when I get into trouble with my eating/drinking. My friends were all drinking beers & having a great time. I had a diet soda when I got there & proceeded to just drink a few diet sodas & not have any alcohol! Then when there was a break in the band's performance we decided to check out the snack stand since we weren't going to go to dinner until later in the evening. My friends all got hot dogs & OMG I wanted one but I kept thinking that Shaun T wouldn't like that. So I looked at my other options & got a small caesar salad instead. The guy at the snack stand even gave me two packets of dressing for this tiny salad. It was 130 calories per pack!! So I left one of the packets at the counter & only needed to use about a half of the one packet!! All of my friends looked at me like "what are you eating". The one girl actualy said "look what she has" like it was some foreign concept. LOL Made me feel good...and strong that I could bypass the hot dog. I loooove hot dogs, but didn't want to hurt my progress by eating one. And since we were going out to dinner I wanted to limit my "cheating" in case I went overboard then!!
We ended up at a diner for dinner because the wait times at Applebee's & Friday's were too long. I had ribs with roasted potatoes & veggies. I didn't eat that many ribs because I was full! And then we shared a chocolate mousse cake for dessert & I drank water with my dinner!
All I had eaten the rest of yesterday was a bowl of low-fat granola with almond milk, which was burned off after doing pure cardio & cardio abs!! Then I had banana chocolate milk as my recovery drink. And before going to the casino I had a whole wheat english muffin with some shredded cheese & grilled chicken. So all in all I had a really good eating day!!
Yesterday was such a success for me! I don't drink a lot, but I like having a drink or two when out with friends. But today I realized I didn't need to! And why waste the calories on your drink?? Sure once in a while I will still have a drink, or a "naughty" meal. But you have to learn to pick & choose your battles. And as crazy as it sounds, I feel like Shaun T is watching over me & seeing the choices that I'm making. So I'm trying to keep him happy!! And in the end I will be making myself happy when I get the results I am aiming for!!
