Wow, I'm so sorry for the lull in my blogging! I got so worked up for my race last weekend that I forgot to post. And then after the race I have been letting my muscles recover so there really wasn't much to catch up on. But I did want to post my results from the BSR.
So it was pretty hot & humid for the BSR but didn't quite feel as horrible at the start than I had thought it would be. The sun just started peeking out so I was anxious to hurry up & start before the temps rose even more! I stayed at a slow but steady "run" and guess what? I ran the whole 10 miles with NO walk breaks!!!! I truly thought I'd have to walk, but I kept pushing forward & next thing you knew, I made it the whole way! I had Shaun T with me the whole time, in spirit. I kept thinking about how he says to run like you have potato chips in your hands so I did that often & would smile. When I started to get tired I would channel my inner Shaun T & try to dig deeper to not give up. It really worked!! I feel great & I'm so glad I did it & that it all worked out the best it could! I finished 11 minutes slower than last year, but with the heat & humidity that wasn't too shabby. The fire hydrant sprinklers were a life-saver, too!! :)
I was extremely tired & exhasuted Sunday & even through Monday so I delayed getting back into Insanity. I went out to dinner with some friends on Tuesday so I was planning on starting back up yesterday. But to be honest, I got home yesterday & was so exhausted that I took a nap instead. So today was the day I got back on the Insanity wagon!
I decided to do max recovery today to ease myself back into things. Then tomorrow I will do my normal Friday workout & then continue with the schedule. So my last week of Insanity will be next week! This way I can stay on my normal workout/rest days!! I'm so excited to finish round 1 & more importantly...send in for my t-shirt!!!!
My Shape-Ups came today so I'm going to give them a try tomorrow to see how my legs feel in them & hopefully they can enhance my results! We shall see! :)
