Insanity- Week 9 Day 3

My nemesis MIC done today!  I was so tired when I got home today & really wasn't feeling ready to tackle this workout but I did!!  I even thought about switching up & doing recovery today & moving MIC to tomorrow.  But I decided to look it straight in the eye & get past it!  It was a bit difficult as usual but I made it through.  I felt strong at some points, and exhausted at others.  I guess that's the definition of Insanity!  :)

I did attempt more side suicide jumps today & did OK!!  I went slow & watched my form & didn't have too much pain in my rib muscle.  A little twinge, but hopefully that's healing up!!

I'm really not happy with my HR monitor!!  It seemed to be registering low, unless I wasn't pushing as hard.  But I swore at times my heart was pounding & it just had me above 100.  Said I did 515 for the workout when MIC is usually in the high 600s, close to 700!!!!  Well, it's a range for me so I'll just see what it says next time.  But I hate how it takes several tries to get a reading, 'cause then sometimes my HR has come down, too.  Humph...

Wow, recovery tomorrow then 2 more workouts before my final fit test!  How awesome!  I can't wait to send in for my t-shirt!!  :)

Insanity- Week 8 Day 5ish

LOL, I'm having trouble figuring out what the past two days were.  I guess today is officially day 5 for week 8 since I didn't workout last Friday.  I did the scheduled MIC & was a little nervous about doing it but figured I'd do the best I could.  It actually went OK!!  I still struggle with getting all the way through the exercises, and the plank work & push-ups are still a challenge for me, but I did the best I could do.  I acutally attemped some of the side suicide jumps!!  My damn rib muscle still hurts a bit, but I could do them!!  :)  I'm starting to feel a little stronger & can't wait to see how I do when I go through my second round!

So I bought Skechers Shape-Ups & wore them for the first time today.  I had them on all day & was standing & walking around in them for over 9 hours!!!!  Needless to say my legs were T-I-R-E-D when I got home!  I really could feel how worked out they felt during Insanity!!  Pretty cool that sneakers can help get you in shape!!!!

My HR monitor didn't seem to be recording my HR that well today.  It seemed a bit low, staying just over 100+.  I got a few readings around 140, but I had a few that were showing over 200 which I know wasn't right!!  So I'm not positive exactly how many calories I burned, but it was a good amount!  It said about 565.

Can't wait to wrap up week 8 tomorrow & get ready for my final week of round 1 next week!  :)

Insanity- Week 8 Day 1

Whew, now I know why I did the fit test on Sunday when I started month 2 & not back to back with MIC.  I am pooped!!  I took about a 10 minute break inbetween but it's much better to spread them out to save some energy for the workout!!  I don't know why I felt so good yesterday, and yet today I felt so heavy.  I did OK with my fit test, but felt like I should have been able to do better.  Here are my results:

Switch kicks: 52/52/46/50
Power jacks: 32/41/45/47
Power knees: 60/76/87/96
Power jumps: 15/26/30/32
Globe jumps: 5/8/9/9
Suicide jumps: 10/12/12/12
Push-up jacks: 4/12/15/18
Low plank oblique: 25/40/50/62

So as you can see, some moves I went up with some I stayed about the same.  I got a half globe jump before time ran out, but since we're counting whole moves I didn't count it.  :)

Burned a great amount of calories today, too, if my HR monitor is correct:
Fit test: 265
MIC: 675
TOTAL CALORIES BURNED: 940

I'm feeling a bit bummed today, too, because I'm not losing weight & when I did my measurements today I didn't lose any more inches & I actually gained a half inch on my waist & hips!!  The two places I don't wanna GAIN anything!!  I'm not giving up, and I am feeling great inside, but I really want to see better progress on the outside.  I guess that will come in time.  It's a little frustrating, but I know a lot of it is my fault as well.  I'm not eating as well as I should, and as you can see, that truly has a lot to do with it.  Because if I can burn over 600 calories a day 6 days a week, you would think I see better results on the outside & on the scale.  But I really need to pay better attention to what I'm putting in my mouth!!  I will do my best!!

Insanity- Week 7 Day 1

I'm baaaack!!  I'm feeling much better today & got right back into it!  I just finished up Max Cardio Conditioning & I'm actually thinking of doing what I was supposed to do today- Max Interval Circuit.  I've never done two Insanity workouts in one day, let alone two MAX workouts!  But I'm feeling ready & I'd rather try to do both today & have my rest day on Sunday then to have to go straight through.  Especially with another fit test & workout planned for next Monday!  I'll probably slide the fit test to Sunday again.  I am tired since winding down from my workout but I'm going to see if I can get myself pumped back up to do another hour workout!!  We shall see...

UPDATE:  Oh yeh, how ya like me now??  I DID IT!!  Max cardio AND max interval circuit in the same day!!  I ended up eating dinner first & then doing it but I made it through.  I feel like I had a hard time getting through a lot of the exercises but it wasn't because I was tired from the earlier workout.  It's because my rib muscle is still acting up so I can't do the side suicide kicks or the full body drills, etc..., so I filled in with regular suicide drills & girlie push-ups.  Just tried to keep moving.

Max Cardio Conditioning: 560
Max Interval Circuit: 680
TOTAL CALORIES BURNED TODAY: 1240!!!!

I am soooo proud of myself for getting myself back on track!  I definitely don't want to have to do that too often, but for slacking off yesterday I'm glad I am now back on schedule!

Insanity- Month 2 Day 5

OK, month 2 week 1 is almost complete!!  I can't believe how fast it's flying along!!  I'm really hoping to see results when I'm done, but I also think I'm going to do at least another round.  My damn rib muscle isn't 100% so I didn't even try the side suicides or the full body drills.  Instead I tried doing some in & outs & then I just did girlie push-ups.  At least I kept moving, but I really need to work on my obliques so I hope to be able to get into those soon!!  I definitely feel my energy bonking out in these drills!  I didn't make my results & recovery drink before like I should have, but I did drink a 5-hour energy shot.  Didn't notice much difference.  LOL  Tomorrow I'll make my results & recovery drink for Plyo!!

In a little while I'm going to be getting my massage & I am so looking forward to that!  My body is ready!!

I won't press stop & I'm gonna keep going & give it all I can!!  My HR monitor said I burned 670 calories today!!  If that's true then I know I was doing something!!  :)

Insanity- Month 2 Day 1 IT'S ON!!

It's official...I have started Month 2 today with Max Interval Circuit!!  O-M-F-G...Month 2 is going to kill me!! But why am I smiling? 'Cause I LOVE it!! HAHA!! Wow, that was rough, but I made it through. Couldn't do all of it, but did the best I could. Was like Day 1 all over again!! If you want it...go get it!! Digging deep y'all!! :)

I used the knee wrap on my knee & I had some pain with the high knees and a little of the jumping, but I just did the best I could.  And the full body drills??  WTF????  Dang Shaun!!  LOL  Had trouble with floor switch kicks, and sideways suicides, heck I had trouble with a lot of it!!  But again, I tried my best!  The side suicides are going to be a little tricky because of my rib muscles not being completely healed yet.  But I took it easy & did what felt OK.  I heard that this is the hardest of all of the month 2 workouts so let's hope that's true.  I liked the footbal drills & if I wasn't so tired I would have "tackled" them better, too.  LOL  I was spent!  And if I twirled too fast I was gonna fall over.  HAHA!!

What's really pissing me off is my damn HR monitor!!  It doesn't always give me a reading right away so I paused the DVD twice just to make sure I could get a reading before the water break ended!  And then my wrist hit the stop/reset button again & it cleared what I did so far so I don't know my true caloric burn!!  DAMN IT!!  I think I was around 325-350 before it reset so I just added 325 to my reading when I started it back up again for an approximate 550+ burn!!  At least it gives me a range!

Off to the Phillies Home Opener in a few hours!  Then I'll be ready for day 2 tomorrow!!  She's baaaack!  :)
